I purchased this Lexar professional UDMA 300x and the 233x for my Nikon D700 prior to purchasing the camera since it went on sale. After reading the owner's manual, this is one of the recommended CF cards (300x) for my camera. After formatting the memory card, it worked flawlessly when I tested it at 5fps and was able to keep up with the number of consecutive shots that I took using the highest settings: RAW + FINE, L. It took approximately 4 seconds after the 5th shot before the green CF busy indicating light extinguished on my camera. My 15 in 1 memory card reader (generic brand) was able to read and transfer files from the CF card. This was my first time to use CF cards since I use to have the Nikon D80 which is why I was worried since I thought I needed a special card reader for CF UDMA cards. The minimum card speed recommended was 133x from the owner's manual, and my other 233x CF card worked just as well. I know Lexar Professional came up with a much faster CF card (600x). This is a side-effect of iSCSI's improved file caching. For a mixture of large/medium/small file transfers, typical of home usage, there's no clear winner between regular and iSCSI volumes. Personally, I've settled on regular volumes for all home usage. Choosing iSCSI requires modest computer literacy because you'll need to install MSFT's iSCSI drivers and learn how to use them.

Altough this product is advertised for Mac, I am using it on a XP Machine.
The main purpose was for storing all my iTunes videos and music on a raid-1 disk unit, which gave me more than enough space in a mirrored environment.
I had to configure it on a Vista machine, setting it to raid-1 was a snap (it comes preconfigured for raid-0 Mac format) and it also reformatted itself for Windows use. I am not exagerating when I say that in les than 10 minutes it was up and running, now I have 2TB mirrored storage for my iTunes library.

The only problem was that the installation program that came with the CD was faulty, failing to display the installation buttons and menues, but I managed to install directly from the .exe files on the CD. This was annoying and may be a problem for people with less computer experience.
