Purchased the Buffalo LS-W2.0TGL/R1 based on other reviews here on Amazon. The unit installed and operates exactly as described by Buffalo. Installation is simple: insert the disk; follow the instructions; start using the LinkStation. I installed mine under Windows Vista Home Premium 64 bit operating system. I bought the 2 TB model to have the redundancy of two disks operating in Raid 1 configuration. I use the Buffalo strictly for backing up my computers (4) in the office. With Raid 1 it would take a total NUKE job for me to lose my backups. I use Acronis True Image on each of the four machines and have a separate directory on the Buffalo for each.
