This is my second LaCie 1 TB external drive. I store large video files on them. I've had one for about a year, the second one for several months. I've never had a single problem with either drive. I also move the drives between three different home computers, without any problems. An excellent investment for about $150. You can get cheaper external drives, but this one is built to last. It has an extra large 32 mb cache, which speeds up writing.
