Western Digital, WD TV Mini Media Player WDBAAL0000NBK-NESN Immediately

I've had the mini for a couple of weeks now. My overall impressions are that it is a good, inexpensive alternative for the SD crowd - which is the reason that I purchased it (why buy a fancy unit for an old TV?). It did not meet my needs for my Panasonic 46" Plasma, but it works great on my ancient JVC SD TV.

Pros:
Nice comprehensive manual (unlike many of these media players)
Small size - easily portable
Good interface - I used a large portable drive and it's easy to scroll through and find files
Can easily be found at a reduced price
For those of us with old SD TV's, the composite output is great!

Cons:
Plays very few of the files that I've thrown at it, but does play standard avi's, so it meets my needs
Lack of HDMI - only composite and component
Small remote (although it is a full-featured remote)
Full retail price is astronomical when compared to its competition

Now the number of stars that I am giving this product are because it is easily available at 30-40% below retail. If I were to pay full price, the number of stars would be substantially lower! This has become a very crowded market for media players, and this unit just does not offer enough bang for the buck.Get more detail about Western Digital, WD TV Mini Media Player WDBAAL0000NBK-NESN.
