Iomega Home Media 1 TB Network Attached Storage 34337 Right now

I purchased this network drive to link three pc's, one running XP, another Vista and the last a mac. The software was buggy on the XP machine from the start. It did not let me open the Retrospect software. It would just hang there for ever and I would have to manually close it. I spent hours trying to get this to work. I could still link to the web interface but that did not help with the settings and adjustments that you may need to make (I know I did).

It was slow but that was not the biggest issue. This unit gives a off a lot of noise. The fan keeps humming and it does not ever seem to go into a stand by when not n use. Add that to the software issue and I could not live with it. The warranty and help desk is a joke for this type of unit. Online live chat is your only live support unless you pay a premium for the phone support. I tried the online chat and it was slow and time consuming to say the least. And this unit only has a 1 year warranty. Now with the fan never stopping and the unit not able to go into stand by, what do you think of a 1 year warranty?

Luckily I was able to return this to Amazon and purchased another model from another manufacturer.

I would say that if you get this to work it is a fair unit for network use at a good price. But I believe that there are a few other units available that do what this does and better. The old saying "you get what you pay for" may apply here.

Lowest Price Sandisk SDSDB-4096-A11 4 GB Secure Digital High Capacity Flash Card

WARNING: Not all cameras and/or laptops can "recognize" a 4Gb SD drive.
My three year old Canon PowerShot A540 could not, and so did my faithfull 6-yr old Toshiba A25-S307(upgraded to the max). I was saved by a co-worker who had a 2Gb drive and his (newer) cameras could read my new 4Gb. The 4Gb's price of $10+ (including shipping) made the "exchange" fair and painless!
Maybe Amazon/SunDisk can add a little warning to that effect!Get more detail about Sandisk SDSDB-4096-A11 4 GB Secure Digital High Capacity Flash Card.
