As they say beauty is on the inside. Well that is where this thumb drive fails. The metal cylinder is well made and will never break. But the thumb drive within is cheap plastic. Within a month of use it has begun to fall apart. This is sad, I had high hopes for this. Spend your money elsewhere if you want a really rugged flash drive. Also the flash drive makes some weird electrical popping noise when it first contacts the usb port, independent of which computer I use it on.
